Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:
Good Evening Riverwalk Families,
Wow! We are winding down the first full week of school. It has definitely been a great one. Dismissal is going smoothly and we see a lot of smiling faces in the hallways.
We will have MAP testing during the weeks of September 5 - September 14th. A more specific schedule will be made available once each grade level has been assigned their day and time for testing.
Please remember that we do not allow parents to drop students off in the parking lot. It is not safe for them, as we do not have a staff member on duty on the parking lot side of the crosswalk to ensure that they do not walk into traffic.
Also, please have your child ready to get out of the vehicle when you come to a stop. It is important for students to quickly exit their cars so that the car line will continue to move.
Our modular unit is in place and completely put together. We are waiting on the electrical contractor to put in an electrical unit so that Duke Energy can connect a transformer for power. We anticipate this will occur within the next week or so. We do have a sidewalk poured that goes from the far side door to the end of the modular ramp. We will have our final walk through with the modular company soon after the electricity has been installed. Updates will come as we receive them.
If you would like to order hot lunches for your child, please visit our Riverwalk Academy website and look under the lunch tab. Click Here for More Details
If any parents have a connection with a gravel company, please let us know. We are looking to put gravel down to assist with mud on the road between the main building and the modular.
Thank you for being a part of our family!
With Best Wishes,
Updates and Resources
We are excited to announce the Riverwalk Academy Gardening Club. The Gardening Club Meets Every Wednesday After School in The Multipurpose Room From 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM and is sponsored by 4-H and Miss Danielle Scarpa.
4-H is a club encouraging youth to learn leadership, life skills, and become positive influences in their community. This year Riverwalk Academy parent Danielle Scarpa will be leading a 4-H gardening club at our school to teach learners the importance of being able to grow your own food and how to make healthy choices. The group will meet weekly and cover a wide range of gardening related topics and projects. If you have any questions or are interested in joining please contact Danielle Scarpa at email@example.com
Mrs. Katrina Salyer is proud to sponsor a Riverwalk Angler Club. It is available for males and females' grades 6th - 8th. They meet at Clover High School, in the library next Tuesday August 29, 2017, at 6:00 pm. Meetings for the Angler Club typically meet about once a month but with the club starting they are meeting several times to ensure we get as many students that are interested to join. The first tournament of the season is 09/30/2017.
We have students from Clover, Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, Rock Hill, & York. Students do not need to have a boat but it helps if they do as we are always in need of boats and boat captains. Likewise, if you know of any parents or others in the community that are willing to volunteer their time and/or boat please reach out to them and get them in contact with Mrs. Katrina Salyer. Mrs. Katrina Salyers contact information is 803-323-9887 and her email is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
