Meet our Team
Hello! My name is Emily Hyleman and I am so excited to be teaching at Riverwalk! I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelors of Science with a dual certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am recently married and live with my husband in Lake Wylie. I am a lover of all things animals and the color purple. Teaching has always been my dream and it's so exciting to see it come true. I look forward to teaching your child this school year
My name is Tessa Wilson and I am a Kindergarten teacher assistant. I studied Physical Education and Mathematics at Winthrop University and have worked with kids for 10+ years. Teaching has always been my passion and I am excited to make a difference in the lives of students. My husband, Mark, is the PE teacher here at Riverwalk and we have a daughter and son. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking and camping with the kids and running OCR races. I am fortunate and thrilled to be a part of the Riverwalk team!
Hello! My name is Tameka Maxwell and I am thrilled to be teaching kindergarten at Riverwalk this year! I am originally from Charleston, SC but relocated in 2001. I graduated from Claflin University (Orangeburg, SC) with a degree in Child Development. This will mark my 11th year of teaching. I am married and have 2 daughters. I love teaching kindergarten because I get to see so much growth and independence in young learners!
My name is Iva Willis (pronounced Eva), and I am very excited to start my first official year at RWA! My previous employment was in hospitality industry but last year, after volunteering in the classroom, I decided to pursue a full time position and become a part of the Riverwalk family. I fully embrace the project based learning concepts, with unique approaches and rewarding benefits for individual learners. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all the Learners and Parents soon!
