Meet Our Team
mr. Garrett Ellis
Hi! My name is Garrett Ellis and I am a middle school science facilitator here at Riverwalk. I am a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina. I am very passionate about sharing my love for science with others. I currently live in Fort mill, but I grew up in a small community in Lancaster County. I am thrilled about joining the Riverwalk team this year! In my spare time I enjoy traveling abroad, spending time with family and friends, and finding new adventures in life! I look forward to working with my fellow teachers, students, and parents here at Riverwalk Academy!
MS. Kate Krebs
My name is Kate Krebs and I am the middle school social studies facilitator. I recently graduated from Erskine College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and History. While at Erskine I had the amazing opportunity to serve in the local high schools teaching Psychology, Economics, and Geography. Although I enjoy teaching all aspects of Social Studies, my favorite time period to explore is the Cold War Era!
ms. courtney mcgrath
I graduated from Winthrop University in 2015 with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Medieval Studies. I graduated from Winthrop again in 2016 with my MAT focused in Secondary Education. I am an active member in the National Council for Teachers of English, and truly believe that any learner can be a reader if only given the right book at the right time. I have spent time living abroad, and in different parts of the U.S as well. When I am not being Ms. McGrath I enjoy reading, going to the beach, playing Nintendo games, and watching the New England Patriots with my family. I most enjoy studying the Medieval, Elizabethan, and Young Adult Literature. While I enjoy helping students develop a love of literature, what I most enjoy about teaching is helping students learn more about themselves and helping them grow as people.
Ms. Miranda Shuller
My name is Miranda Shuller and I am one of the middle school math and English teachers.. I recently graduated from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education. I moved to Clover, SC to be closer to family and Riverwalk found me. I am very excited to get to know both teachers and students in this upcoming year.
MR. THIEN VO
Greetings! My name is Thien Vo and I am the middle school math teacher. I was born in Vietnam, but I spent the majority of my childhood in Hastings, Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2011 (Go Huskers!) majoring in Business Finance and minoring in Economics. I have worked in all aspects of banking as well as managing a small family business in Charleston SC. After working for several years out of college, I decided to pursue my true passion in teaching. I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Winthrop University in 2017. I am excited to be at Riverwalk and look forward to sharing my knowledge of math to the students and its application to the real world!
