September is almost here, so it's time to announce our Staff Members of the Month!
These individuals keep a positive attitude and are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. These staff members put students first and we are so thankful for the impact they make each day on our campus and in our community.
We would like to congratulate Ms. Hughes, Ms. Teague, and Ms. Douglas for being selected as our September Staff Members of the Month! We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride.
Ms. Hughes, 5th Grade Teacher
Hughes was nominated by a colleague who said:
"Mrs. Hughes is one amazing teacher. Getting to see and listen to her teach, she knows how to engage her students and make it a fun experience. She is intentional in every component of her teaching by meeting every kid's individual needs. Not only is she a great teacher, but she is a great colleague and someone I see as a mentor. She gives great advice, is encouraging, and supports the people around her. I am grateful for Mrs. Hughes and so happy she is a part of the Riverwalk family! "
Ms. Teague, 6-9 School Counselor
Teague was nominated by a colleague who said:
"Ms. Teague has really gone above & beyond with scheduling, mentoring & counseling. I'd had the chance to see 1st hand the impact that she is having on the successful start to the school year ."
Ms. Douglas, Special Education Teacher
Douglas was nominated by a colleague who said:
"First week here and was quick to build relationship with staff and students. She had an emergency on the first few days of school; however, she did not let that interfere with her job. Offered to cover my class when I was out, and she was amazing! She provided me updates about the students. The majority of the students in that class completed their sub assignments. I've also heard good things about her from other teachers. For an example, she makes sure that students are paying attention when she's in a class for push-in."
