October is almost here, so it's time to announce our Staff Members of the Month! 

These individuals keep a positive attitude and  are always willing to lend a hand to help our staff and students. These staff members put students first and we are so thankful for the impact they make each day on our campus and in our community.

We would like to congratulate Ms. Genica,  Ms. Benderson, and Ms. Slifer for being selected as our October Staff Members of the Month!  We greatly appreciate the time and energy they give to our Pride. These teachers demonstrate our Core Commitments at Riverwalk Academy! 

Ms. Genica, Special Education Teacher

Genica was nominated by a parent who said: 

"Ms. Genica has been amazing with my son! She has helped him grow so much in not only his learning, but in managing his emotions! "

Ms. Genica was nominated for exhibiting the commitment of "We commit to our students by treating them with respect and fairness so we can fully invest in each child based on their individual needs."

Ms. Benderson, 6th Grade Teacher

Benderson was nominated by a parent who said: 

"Ms. Benderson has been great acclimating my son to the 6th grade environment and strives to get the best out of him AND  Mrs. Benderson goes above and beyond for all her students. She is very compassionate and dedicated to each student and there needs. We are so thankful for her teaching our child and helping him grow and overcome obstacles with his learning disabilities everyday. Thank you for going the extra mile to help every child succeed."

Ms. Benderson was nominated for exhibiting the commitments of "We commit to our students by treating them with respect and fairness so we can fully invest in each child based on their individual needs" and "We commit to our families and surrounding communities by viewing and respecting them as essential educational partners who are critical to the overall success of their children."

Ms. Slifer, Special Education Teacher

Slifer was nominated by a colleague who said: 

"Mrs. Slifer cares a lot about the students. She goes above and beyond help her students meet their educational goals."

Ms. Slifer was nominated for exhibiting the commitment of "We commit to our students by treating them with respect and fairness so we can fully invest in each child based on their individual needs."
