Riverwalk Academy has contracted with the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina (PCSASC) to administer this year’s appointment and election process. This ensures integrity and confidentiality in the process. The governing board consists of four (4) appointed members and five (5) elected members. There are currently four (3) elected seats up for election and two (2) seats up for an appointment.
Timeline
May 1st, 2024:
Call for Board Candidates will be distributed to the public by the school. Each prospective board member must complete an online filing form. Filing Form Link: https://forms.gle/3rRxu8HkgcmP2JeL6
May 8th, 2024:
Filing period ends. Acceptance of candidate filings will be closed at 12:00 pm (Noon).
May 10th, 2024:
Candidate profiles will be posted online.
May 14th-16th, 2024:
Voting open with e-ballot links emailed to each parent/guardian and employee of the school. Voting will open on May 14th, 2024, at 8:00 am and will close on May 16th, 2024, at 4:00 pm. There is one vote per child enrolled in the school and one vote per employee. Each ballot will have a unique pin number to ensure confidentiality and integrity of the process.
May 17th, 2024:
No later than this date election results will be certified and announced publicly.
Appointments will be made in accordance with the Board’s bylaws
SY2024-25:
All newly elected board members will be sworn in during the first scheduled meeting of the new school year. This will complete the election process.
