Riverwalk Academy Recognizes October 2025 Staff Members of the Month
Each month, Riverwalk Academy proudly celebrates staff members who go above and beyond in their dedication to students and the school community. For October, the school is pleased to recognize three exceptional individuals who embody Riverwalk’s values of excellence, support, and commitment.
Elementary School: Ms. Thorne
Nominated by a colleague, Ms. Thorne was recognized for her unwavering dedication and tireless work ethic.
“I am nominating Mrs. Thorne for her outstanding dedication and hard work each and every day. She consistently goes above and beyond to support every student, modeling excellence and commitment in all that she does. Her positive influence and unwavering effort make a meaningful impact on the school community.”
Middle School: Mr. Young
Mr. Young was nominated by a student who shared how engaging and enjoyable his classroom is.
“He's an awesome teacher, and we have so much fun learning in his class!”
Mr. Young’s ability to make learning both fun and meaningful is clearly appreciated by his students.
Multiple students also stated that Mr. Young is "chill." We know that coming from middle school students, this is one of the highest accolades a teacher could receive.
High School: Coach George
Coach George is admired by both colleagues and students for her exceptional dedication and initiative. She frequently volunteers her time, covers classes for fellow staff members, and offers her classroom space to others.
Colleagues describe her as a “fantastic staff member” who consistently goes the extra mile. Students view her as an inspiring and respectful role model. In both her Biology class and on the volleyball court, she fosters a learning environment that is inclusive, supportive, and rooted in mutual respect.
“She helps students achieve, even those who struggle with science. Her class is a wonderful place to learn.”
“She’s fair, kind, and always communicates clearly. We trust her and want to do our best because of her.”
