At Riverwalk Academy, our educators are the heartbeat of our campus, driving the success and emotional growth of every student. As we move further into the spring semester, we are thrilled to spotlight three individuals who embody excellence through their mentorship, empathy, and tireless work ethic.

Elementary School: Ms. Christman

Nominated by a colleague, Ms. Christman is recognized for her essential role as a reading interventionist and her unwavering support of the early elementary team. “Mrs. Christman plays an integral role in the lives of the early elementary students and teachers! As a reading interventionist, she works alongside teachers and students to support them in literacy instruction. She is such a positive presence and works hard to support every one of her students! The feedback and compliments she gives teachers are also full of kindness and support. I am so thankful to have her as a coworker! Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Christman!”

Middle School: Mr. Yost

Nominated by a colleague, Mr. Yost is celebrated for his profound impact on the artistic and personal development of his students, helping them find their voices through music. “Mark Yost has been nominated in recognition of his ongoing commitment to the growth and development of our students, both as musicians and as individuals. Through his passion for music education, he consistently encourages students to strive for their personal best while creating an environment where they feel supported to step outside of their comfort zones. Mr. Yost has played a pivotal role in helping students discover and develop talents they may not have otherwise realized, fostering confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.”

High School: Ms. Johnston

Nominated by a student, Ms. Johnston is recognized for the deep connection she builds with her learners and the lasting impact she makes in the classroom. “Best teacher I have had in the school!” Ms. Johnston’s ability to resonate so strongly with her students is a testament to her dedication and the supportive environment she creates. Being named a "best teacher" by those she instructs is the highest honor an educator can receive.

We are honored to have such dedicated professionals on our team. Please join us in applauding Ms. Christman, Mr. Yost, and Ms. Johnston for their exceptional work in making Riverwalk Academy a premier place to learn and grow!
