Riverwalk Academy is proud to announce that its Junior Beta Club has earned the distinction of being named a 2025–2026 National Beta School of Merit.

The National Beta School of Merit award recognizes schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence by providing students in every eligible grade level with the opportunity to participate in National Beta. Riverwalk Academy’s Junior Beta Club serves students in grades six through eight.

“This recognition reflects the hard work, leadership, and commitment to service demonstrated by our Junior Beta students,” said Dr. Christy Dempsey, Middle School Principal at Riverwalk Academy. “We are proud of the way these students represent Riverwalk Academy and grateful to the faculty members, Ms. Hartley and Ms. Oates, who encourage them to pursue excellence, serve others, and become leaders within their school and community.”

National Beta promotes academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through their participation in Junior Beta, Riverwalk Academy students have opportunities to develop leadership skills, participate in service projects, and make meaningful contributions to their school and community.

“Being named a School of Merit is a tremendous honor for our students and sponsors,” Dempsey added. “It reinforces our belief that students thrive when they are challenged academically and given opportunities to lead and serve.”
