Riverwalk Academy has once again been recognized with the Sportsmanship Banner from the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL), marking the 2025 - 2026 school year as the fourth consecutive year the school has earned this honor.
This recognition represents much more than success in competition; it reflects the character of our student-athletes, coaches, parents, and the entire Riverwalk community.
Earning the Sportsmanship Banner requires a school to demonstrate a year-long commitment to sportsmanship and leadership. Requirements include completing at least three community service activities; participating in all three SCHSL Captain’s Courses and Sportsmanship Summits; maintaining a sportsmanship program within the school; and completing the year with no athlete or coach ejections and no sportsmanship issues or sanctions involving fans or students.
Thank you to our student-athletes for representing Riverwalk with class, competing the right way, and understanding that how we compete matters. Thank you to our coaches for intentionally teaching sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and character. And thank you to our parents and families for supporting our athletes, coaches, and programs while representing Riverwalk positively in the stands and throughout our community.

When asked what they wanted Riverwalk Athletics to be known for, sportsmanship was one of the things they identified as important to them." said Mr. Ball, Secondary Principal and Athletic Director.
Four consecutive Sportsmanship Banners show that this is more than something we say, it has become part of who we are.
