Rain Barrels

One of our high school teachers and our April Staff Member of the Month, Mr. Prothero, has been working with his students to learn more about water conservation and river water cleanliness.

Mr. Prothero received a grant from DHEC, and the money was used to join the Catawba River Keeper Association. The students participated in various workshops with the Catawba River Keepers to learn more about their organization, water conservation and river water cleanliness.

All high school students participated in these workshops and worked on the rain barrels. Two rain barrels will be used as irrigation for our school garden. The remaining 13 barrels will be sold in a silent auction during Family Night on 4/28/2022. All proceeds will go toward the Art Club goal of purchasing a musical keyboard.
