Riverwalk Families,

After consulting with local emergency management, Riverwalk Academy is designating Friday an e-Learning day for our students (K -12).  The decision was made with the safety of our staff, students, and families at the forefront.

Weather forecasts are predicting heavy rain and moderate winds to enter the area around noon, which would be right in the middle of our dismissal.

So out of an abundance of caution, Riverwalk Academy's main campus and “York Tech” campus will be closed on Friday, Sept. 30. That also includes closing activities and practices as well. Saturday athletics will also be canceled.

eLearning Days Guidance

Instruction will be available via a variety of ways (online and via packets that are coming home today).  Teachers will also host open hours where students can log in for optional additional support.   All assignments will be either sent home today, or emailed to the students by 9:00 am.   Individual teachers will follow up with additional information.

All students will initially be counted as present. However, if the assigned work is not completed and submitted within five days, the student must be coded as absent for today. Since their assignments are just like any others, failure to do their work will be graded in accordance with the teacher’s grading policy.

Please have your child upload their assignments into Google Classroom, or for younger students, they may bring their packets back to their teacher when they come back to campus. If you do not have power on Friday or are unable to access the internet, you will have five days after the last school cancellation to turn in assignments.

Stay tuned for more information from your child’s school or teacher.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Lions, stay safe and we hope to see everyone on Monday.
