I hope you are doing well. I’m writing to keep you informed as we closely monitor the weather forecast for this weekend, which includes the potential for a winter storm with freezing temperatures and possible ice that could lead to unsafe driving conditions and power outages.
Our administrative team is actively tracking conditions and preparing for multiple scenarios to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. Depending on how the weather develops, there is a possibility that we may need to implement an e-Learning Day early next week. No decision has been made at this time; however, we want families to know that we are planning ahead and will communicate clearly and promptly if a change to the school schedule becomes necessary.
As always, any decision regarding school operations will be made with safety as our top priority. We will share updates through our usual communication channels should conditions warrant adjustments.
In the meantime, we encourage families to take a few simple steps to stay safe and prepared during winter weather and potential power outages:
Dress in layers and limit time outdoors during extremely cold temperatures.
Check on elderly neighbors or family members who may need additional support.
Keep phones and devices charged, and have flashlights and extra batteries readily available.
Let faucets drip slightly and open cabinet doors to help prevent frozen pipes.
If using space heaters or fireplaces, follow all safety guidelines and never leave them unattended.
Additional winter weather safety information can be found on the SC Emergency Managment’s website.
Thank you for your partnership and flexibility as we navigate the winter weather season together. We appreciate your trust and will continue to keep you informed as conditions evolve.
Stay warm and safe,
~Mr. Chris Carroll,
Family Engagement & Marketing Coordinator
