Ah sure, the Riverwalk Academy St. Patrick’s Day 5K was a right good time! The staff, students, and parents all turned out for a proper craic, with plenty of laughs, a bit of healthy competition, and a whole lot of spirit. Saturday, February 15th is National SRO Day and we want to give a huge thank you to Officer Dave Prescott for his incredible service to Riverwalk Academy! Not only does he keep our school safe as our School Resource Officer, but he also coaches the swim team, brings energy to our school dances as a DJ, and is known for making a mean cheesecake that always leaves us wanting more. His leadership, dedication, and positive influence have made a lasting impact on our students and our school community. Shirley Chisholm didn’t just break barriers—she shattered them. As the first Black woman elected to the U.S. Congress, she made history in 1968, but her impact goes far beyond her political achievements. Known for her fierce determination and unapologetic advocacy, Chisholm challenged the status quo, demanding justice and equality for all, no matter the cost. In 1972, she became the first Black woman to run for President, proving that there are no limits to what we can achieve when we refuse to be confined by society’s expectations.
